Hiring now — remote & part-time

Real UK projects. Wherever you are.

We're building a small, senior bench of engineers and designers to support UK architectural and construction practices. Every role is remote, part-time and flexible — you take on work around whatever else you're doing, and you're paid per project.

Fully remote

Work from anywhere. We coordinate and quality-check everything from our UK office.

Part-time & flexible

Fit it around your current job or studies. You agree scope and deadline before each piece of work.

Genuine UK projects

Live work for UK practices — produced to their standards, templates and title blocks.

Paid per project

Fee agreed in writing before you start. No unpaid speculative work once you're on the bench.

Open roles

Every role here is remote and part-time.

We're expanding fastest in building engineering — structural, civil, MEP and BIM — but we hire across our technology side too. If your discipline isn't listed and you think you'd add something, apply anyway and tell us why.

How hiring works

Four steps. No drawn-out interview rounds.

We care about what you produce, not how you interview. The whole process usually takes about a week.

Apply

Send your CV, two or three samples of your work, your availability and your rate. Five minutes.

Paid trial task

A small, real piece of work with an agreed fee and deadline — so we both find out how this would actually go.

A few questions

Five short questions by email, based on your own application. A few sentences each — no scheduling, no call.

Join the bench

If it goes well you join our panel, and we send you work as it comes in. Scope and fee agreed each time.

What we look for

Honest about what works here — and what doesn't.

This is a good fit if you

  • Ask questions when a drawing or brief is unclear, rather than guessing
  • Give a realistic deadline up front and then hit it
  • Produce tidy, consistent work that someone else can pick up
  • Can work to somebody else's standards and templates without friction
  • Want steady part-time work alongside whatever else you're doing

Probably not a fit if you

  • Need full-time hours or a fixed salary right now
  • Would rather go quiet than flag a problem early
  • Want to redesign everything instead of working to the client's standards
  • Can't share any examples of your own work
  • Are looking for visa sponsorship — these are contract roles, not employment
Apply

Tell us what you do and we'll take it from there.

Fill this in and email your CV and two or three work samples to careers@codexaengineering.co.uk. We reply either way.
